The nearest pubs to Little Saxham lie just across the border in Risby. In fact there are two, just about equidistant. There's the White Horse (01284 810686) (see drawing right) and the Crown and Castle (01284 810393).
There are plenty of other pubs within easy reach. The Greyhound at Chevington (01284 850765) is renowned for its vast range of curries. On the menu each dish is flagged by a number on the Beaufort Scale! '1' is pathetic; '12' will blow your head off.
Over in Horringer there are two pubs - the Beehive (01284 735260) and the Six Bells (01284 735551). The former is more of a restaurant-pub, whilst the latter is more of a 'drinking' pub, which also provides good quality bar snacks.
Slightly further afield is the Star at Lidgate (01638 500275), famous for its Catalan food. This 500-year old pub is very atmospheric. If you don't enjoy paella, you can usually choose from venison and various fish dishes. See picture left.
