This page will be dedicated to photographs of people and views in Little Saxham, taken during the last century. Where possible, they will be dated, although in many cases the dates shown will only be estimates. We would love to see more photographs here, so if you have any, please let Bob Jones know.
Some of these pictures feature on other pages of this website.
One of the strangest places to visit in Little Saxham is the site of Woodland End Farm. Once there were half a dozen cottages, a barn and a small farmhouse. But now all that remains is the ruins of a pig shed, a pond and a well.
In this cottage lived Connie Smith, well-known to many villagers for her commitment to the church, who died in 1996. At that time she had already moved (to Lawners House in the village). She left her cottage at Woodland End in about 1960.
These photographs are believed to date from the 1950s.
At the turn of the century schoolchildren were dressed like this. Note the teacher at the far right.
These two photographs were taken around the turn of the 20th century.
The railway station closed for good in 1967 and these two pictures were taken in about 1955 (left) and 1965 (right). Note how the engine has changed to a diesel. In the older picture you can see some station staff and/or passengers.
